Addressing Our Voluntary Recall: A Letter From Our CEO

April 17, 2018

To our valued consumers,

Traditional Medicinals has been making wellness teas for five decades and your health and well-being has always been our number one priority. Because of this commitment we are voluntarily recalling one batch of Throat Coat Lemon Echinacea from the market.

Our supplier of lemon myrtle leaf (a minor ingredient in this product) found Salmonella contamination in a retained sample of this herb. All our herbs go through rigorous multiple rounds of testing (as well as additional independent third-party testing), and I want to reassure you that no contamination has been found in this product and no illnesses have been reported.

However, upon learning of this, we initiated a voluntary recall of a single lot of tea: Throat Coat Lemon Echinacea (lot #019, exp. date February 2021).

We also notified retailers to remove this lot from their shelves. As well, we encourage you to discard this specific lot if you have it at home. If you believe that you have product affected by this recall and would like reimbursement, or have any other questions or concerns, please contact our Consumer Response line at 1-800-543-4372.

More than ever, I have a great appreciation for our loyal consumers who trust Traditional Medicinals to maintain the highest quality and integrity.

Blair Kellison,
CEO of Traditional Medicinals
